PERU

I said it about Cambodia, Italy and now I’ll say it about Peru. It is an extremely special place. It could quite possibly be even more special that any place I have ever been. When I arrived to Peru, in a weird way, I felt like I was “home” for the first time in a long time. I only really get that feeling a couple places on this planet and now Peru is one of them.

I don’t even really know where to start with this post…Going to Peru has always been a family goal. My mother was born and raised there so getting to see some of the places she grew up visiting, and sharing in her personal memories, was such a special moment for me. I don’t even have the words to describe my feelings about Peru. That’s probably why it took me almost a year to blog my images. There was a part of me that didn’t want to because then it would be over. I’ll never get that moment back of flying through the Andes mountains into Cusco, taking the Hiram Bingham Train through the countryside and mountains and arriving in Aguas Clients at the base of Machu Picchu, or climbing the steps to Machu Picchu’s and seeing, for the first time, the breathtaking, spiritual, and socked-in view of the ruins. I will never get back all the moment I felt the calm and peace come over me in the Sacred Valley and moments that I saw the stunning colors and old world charm that Peru has to offer, while simltaneously meeting all the beautiful and kind Peruvian people. Lastly, I’ll never get the moment back of sharing that time with my parents and it makes me feel bittersweet. We waited so long for this trip and now it’s over but I am so glad to have all these wonderful photographs to share and keep. I hope you enjoy my photos!
