Positano, Italy

I don’t even know where to begin with our most recent trip to Italy. We stayed in the Amalfi Coast for 8 days. It was more than amazing. Not only is it one of the most beautiful places on earth, but the food is amazing and the people are so friendly. Everywhere you turn there is a picture that needs to be taken…My dream! While we were there, we stayed in Positano at the B&B La Fenice. I can’t say more about this hotel. It is so quaint and has so much Italian charm I could honestly live there. A little off the beaten path, but not so far from the center of town that it is out of the way. It is in the perfect location! La Feince is also one of the few hotels with a private beach. While we were there in April and it was too cold for the beach, if you ever go in the summer, I would recommend staying there just for the private beach alone. Positano get’s extremely crowded in the summer with tourists and having that little piece of heaven right at your hotel would be a godsend.  The hotel is run by a, born and bread Positano, family. They are the nicest, and most accommodating people who made our stay wonderful. They are the kind of family that you get to know and want to go back and visit for years. Breakfast was included in our stay and we had fresh fruit, coffee, eggs etc. every morning on the terrace overlooking the ocean. Our hotel room, had our own private balcony overlooking the ocean which we spent many afternoons eating our local hand made, gigantic, sandwiches on. If you ever visit Positano, I HIGHLY recommend that you stay at this hotel.

Below you’ll see pictures from Positano, as well as a few of our day trips Pompeii,  Capri, Amalfi and Ravello. While visiting Pompeii, we also visited Mt. Vesuvious and climbed to the top of the crater. It was so cool to see such a historic and still active volcano up close like that. Another one of my favorite days was the day we climbed The Path of the Gods. If you like hiking, this is a great take. I don’t think I have ever been higher, at least, without a railing between the ground and me. The views were breathtaking and the experience was unreal. The entire hike from top to bottom took about 5 hours. However, we did stop to have a picnic of fresh mozzarella, olives, salami, bread in the middle. If you are going to do this hike, make sure you take food & water!

Our trip was the trip of a lifetime, but I’m hoping I get to go back one day. Until then, please enjoy my photos!

  1. I’m planning trip to Amalfi coast next fall and found this post. Your pictures are amazing! I may stay at La Fenice based on your review alone. Great job capturing surrounding towns and their charm. 🙂
